Welcome to the European Private-Equity-Study website!

The European Private-Equity-Study is an academic research initiative by the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, University of Technology Berlin, University of Freiberg and the Institute for Strategic Planning to analyze value creation techniques of buyout associations.

After having done extensive research on value creation through buyouts from the perspective of portfolio companies, our current research (^EUPE study²⁰¹⁰) focuses on value creation from the perspective of private equity firms. Our aspiration is to gain a better understanding of the extent of private equity firms' involvement in their portfolio companies.

To achieve our goal, we are asking private equity firms in the buyout segment on their management style in general and specifically on several activities with value creating influence in a large scale European wide survey. Based on the data generated through our survey, we want to make an objective contribution to the current debate on private equity and give relevant recommendations to practitioners on how to improve the ownership model and on how they can better support their portfolio companies.

This website was set up to give you a detailed overview of our project and the research team as well as to allow study participants to fill out the online questionnaire.
